ABOUT ME

I am an applied microeconomist specializing in environmental and natural resource economics. I use econometric methods and applied microeconomic theory to examine the effectiveness and efficiency of environmental policy, how regulations affect landowners' decisions, and how private groups impact the enforcement of environmental regulations and the provision of public goods. My current research examines the role of private environmental groups in endangered species conservation and the efficiency of tax deductibility for donations to environmental nonprofits. My research has been published in the Journal of Environmental Economics and Management, the Journal of the Association of Environmental and Resource Economists, the Review of Environmental Economics and Policy, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, the American Journal of Agricultural Economics, Land EconomicsNature Sustainability and other outlets. I have taught econometrics, environmental and resource economics, environmental law, policy, and economics,  microeconomics, and mathematical economics.
